- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Toss in the chopped onion and sauté until translucent and fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt. Let the mixture simmer for a couple of minutes until it thickens slightly and becomes glossy, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness, then transfer it onto a baking sheet or pizza pan. Spread the cooked Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the meat sauce, covering all the toppings. Drizzle the crust edges with a little olive oil for a golden finish.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling and browned, about 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning around the edges.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Slice into squares or wedges and serve hot, enjoying the gooey, crispy, flavorful mess.
Notes
Feel free to customize the toppings with chopped pickles or jalapeños for extra flavor.
